Project “Intelligence for Knowledge Management and Innovation”

Description

The project “intelligence for knowledge management and innovation” aims at developing a semantic search engine for accessing knowledge databases, supported by a virtual agent.

Objectives

The mentioned project aims at developing a search engine for accessing knowledge databases, supported by a virtual agent. This innovative platform will consist of two modules, the KDSemantic that will be the interface and the search engine, and the KDAgent that will be the virtual agent with the ability to interact with the user.

The KDSemantic will allow the user to search databases taking into consideration the context of the data available. The retrieved results will include not only the list of data that answers to the search performed, but also the indication of employees that may have further knowledge about the topic and referrals to other contents from adjacent areas that may have interest to the topic.

The KDAgent will be a virtual agent with the capacity to interact with the user. It will have the capacity to automatically reply to questions either in an oral or written basis and to synchronize the lips and facial expressions with it. We aim this module to be extremely attractive to the users by making it a more rich and natural experience.

The KDAgent will be able to maintain a dialogue in several languages (English, Portuguese and Spanish), within a specific context by using the KDSemantic to complement the dialogue and the answers to questions made.
